Booking terms
A plain-English guide to how bookings work.

These terms summarise how bookings made through this website work. Specific terms for an individual booking – such as deposits, cancellations and refunds – are given at the point of booking, in your confirmation or in your written agreement, and apply in addition to these terms.
Where you book
- Restaurant tables: reserved through the Merchant of Venice reservation system or by phone, under the restaurant’s own terms.
- Events and tickets (for example Christmas Party Nights, Bonfire Night, wine tastings, Paint & Sip): booked through the booking form shown for each event. Prices, start times and what is included are shown on the form and on our event pages.
- Art classes and workshops: booked through the form or email address shown for each class. Some class dates may be provisional until confirmed.
- Weddings, private hire and corporate events: start with an enquiry or venue viewing. Dates are only secured once agreed in writing.
- Log Cabin stays: enquire with us now; once available, bookings are made through Airbnb under Airbnb’s terms.
Information and changes
We take care to keep dates, times and prices accurate, but events can change or be cancelled. We will tell you as soon as we can if something affecting your booking changes. Opening times shown are the village’s current (temporary) hours and differ between facilities – please call 0115 965 3479 to check if you are unsure.
Weddings and ceremonies
Ceremony options depend on what is legally permitted at the venue. Please ask before you book – we do not assume every type of ceremony is available. Catering is available from Merchant of Venice, and external catering can be arranged only where agreed with us in advance.
Cancellations, deposits and refunds
These are set out for each booking when you make it. If we cancel an event, we will offer a refund or an alternative date. Statutory rights are not affected.
